Hi All,
My name is Matt Busse. I am Kristen Busse's older brother. For those who may not know my sister, Kristen Busse is a 2nd grade teacher at Spaulding Elementary School in Gurnee, IL.
At the end of September, she was diagnosed with Stage 3B Colon Cancer - Colonic Adenocarcinoma. Her cancerous tumor was successfully removed laparoscopically by a partial sigmoid colectomy on October 4th. Subsequently, she has had numerous doctor visits, blood tests, genetic testing, and just finished going through the fertility preservation process.
And now beginning on November 21st she will be the starting her chemotherapy treatment, which will last for 6 months.
I want to thank everyone who has kept Kristen and our family in your prayers. We were so grateful that the staff at Spaulding Elementary School District 56 has been kind enough to hold a 2 day bake sale in which 100% of all donations went to Ms. Busse to help offset her medical expenses!
It’s been amazing on the amount of support, thoughts, and prayers we’ve been receiving. If you would like to follow her daily journal or send her well wishes, you can post a well wish on her journal through this website.
