Krista Davis Tonn was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer (PNETs). She remains the optimistic, strong, and the awesome cheerleader we all know her to be. Currently she is undergoing treatment via Chemo Therapy but has chosen NOT to know her specific "prognosis" because she does not think it will help at the moment, nor will it effect her current treatment plan. Instead of focusing on prognosis, she is focused on the fight!
How we got here- She felt symptoms last May 2016 and went to the ER with abdomen pain, but following an ultrasound nothing was found (this is not uncommon with Pancreatic Cancer). Few obvious symptoms showed in the next months until February 2017. At that time she retuned to the Dr. for more follow up and specific scans and biopsies. On March 1st she learned the specific results that showed Endocrine Pancreatic Cancer that had spread to her liver. She started treatment shortly there after. Now the fight begins!!!
