Kris Lutes

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  

As many of you already know, Kris had a stroke on April 9. She is already on the road to recovery and is working hard at rehab – physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. She is attacking rehab the same way she attacks a backhand cross-court – and we know that those always come out as a winner.

Kris is at Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center, which is part of Delray Medical Center. Rehab is every day and is a lot of hard work.

Anyone who knows Kris knows that her friends are everything to her. She loves your visits, but right now she really needs to focus on getting better. If you’d like to visit, please don’t come more than once a week (after 3 pm is usually ok) and limit your visit to five minutes. Her medical team says this is best for her and we all want her to recover quickly.

Kris’ room is already filling up with flowers and stuffed animals. We’ll keep a list here of some of her favorite things, in case you want to bring anything. For now, she’s loving her treats -- Swedish fish, Scandinavian Swimmers from Trader Joe’s, and Australian licorice from Bed Bath & Beyond.

If you’d like to send a card or letter, send it to her home and Darren or Kyle will bring it to her.

We will update this site every few days to let you know how Kris is doing and, when she's ready, Kris will be on here too.
