For those of you who don't know, Kris has had a hereditary heart murmur all her life. As she likes to put it the only two things she got from her mom was a bad heart and her looks and both are fading fast.
Two years ago, her doctor noticed some irregularity in her irregular heart and sent her on to a cardiologist who determined that her mitral valve was leaking and would need eventually to be fixed. It could be years he said. Well it wasnt and last July Dr Willems declared her heart valve was severely leaking and needed repair or replaced. So that's where we are at. Open heart surgery based on several Drs opinions was the only route. Fortunately this is actually fairly routine but serious surgery. So onward and upward she would say.
