Kolby, Melissa and Jeremy have been receiving such outpouring love, prayers and support that we decided to start a CaringBridge as it is hard for them to communicate with each and every one of you at this time when all their energy is focused on Kolby.  Plus they wanted to make sure that  everyone receives updates on Kolby.  They do read all messages to Kolby as they are positive encouragement for him.

On January 18th, Kolby became ill with fevers and a cough.  They put him on steroids and his fever went away.  He went on a Disney Cruise and was eating and behaving normal.  His fever spiked again after we got home on Wednesday, January 29th of a 105 and would not come down.  His abdominal became distended on Friday, January 31st and he was sent to ER.  They determined a severe liver issue and life flighted him to Denver Children's Hospital.  He was admitted to PICU with sepis stat, acute kidney and liver failure.  The team of doctors and specialists worked day and night and on February 2nd, came back with great news that his liver was out of acute failure and will have some scaring but will regenerate.  His kidneys are still in acute failure and he has fluid in his lungs and abdomen.  He is still in critical condition.  The afternoon of February 2nd, he started to become confused and it progressively became worse enough that they put him on an EEG to monitor him overnight.  He will go in for a bone marrow sample approximately 10 a.m. today, Monday, February 3rd and have a MRI of his head around 4 p.m.

If you have any specific questions or concerns, please contact one of the following individual as they are in close contact with Melissa and Jeremy daily.
