An aunt and a nephew, only 7 years difference in age plus spending varying extended periods of time together in their youth made them more like a sister and brother. An already existed bond will be fortified as today the nephew, Shane Ragone, is donating his kidney to his aunt Kim.
Kim began having kidney problems in 1997, diagnosed with Medullary Sponge Kidney and Focal Segmental Clomerulosclerosis (FSGS) which ultimately led to being diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure in October of 2016. A Facebook post led to an offertory phone call on November 8th which started the long approval process in motion.
Today we are at St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in Denver where the procedure will take place. Please pray for a safe and successful transplant and a speedy recovery for both.
