Welcome to our CaringBridge site. A few weeks ago, Mom began having difficulty breathing. She initially thought it was allergies or a cold, so she let it go. It got worse, quite quickly. With some encouragement, she called a doctor. After X-rays and some blood work was completed, she found she had a significant amount of fluid in her left lung. She initially had 1 liter drained and another liter the first time she was hospitalized. Since the fluid continued to come back, it was decided surgery was necessary.

On June 10th, they removed the remaining fluid (2+ liters) and had talc put in to prevent more fluid from coming in. They also did a biopsy and cancer was found. They are still running tests to determine where it began.

Since being in the hospital, mom has been working on getting her appetite back, using her lung to its full capacity again and also enjoying the outpouring of love and support from everyone.

My mom is the most loving, compassionate and strong woman I know and I'm certain she will fight as hard as she can. But she needs all of us right now, more than ever. Please continue to pray for my mom and for us as we go on this journey.
