Kim was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast on September 18, 2019. This was discovered on routine screening mammogram. (let this be a reminder to stay on top of your mammograms, ladies!) While originally thought to be triple negative, the tumor is Estrogen/Progesterone receptor negative, HER2 receptor positive. Kim's getting treatment at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN and is being supported by her husband, Lee, Ali (19), Ty (17) and therapy chocolate lab, Gracie (13 - and at that age, who is supporting who?)
