Welcome to Kim Capron's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. 

Kim's journey started with a routine mammogram on February 10, 2020. Her doctor called her the next day and asked her to come in to have an ultrasound done to assess what was thought to be a cyst on the mammogram. 
On February 18th, she went in to have the cyst drained with ultrasound guidance. They were unable to drain the cyst therefore biopsies were taken. 
On 2/20/2020 the biopsy report showed an invasive carcinoma. Hormone status  ER/PR, Her2neu negative. 
She was able to see an oncologist on 2/25/2020. 
Kim has been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. We are devastated by this news. She has had genetic testing done and is waiting for those results to come back. These typically take three weeks. 
On 3/5/20, Kim will have a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy.  We will use this site to update everyone tomorrow afternoon once she is home from her surgery.
