On March 2, 2016 I received a call informing me that I have Metastatic Breast Cancer. A routine mammogram in February did not detect any masses in my breast, but revealed an enlarged right axillary lymph node. This led to a biopsy of that lymph node where they found malignant cells. An MRI revealed what we think to be the source: an extremely small mass (7mm) in my right ductal area, which also tested positive for malignancy. The pathology also revealed that the cancer is (Estrogen Receptor) and HER2 neu positive, making it an aggressive cancer, that if untreated will likely spread to other parts of my body (through the lymphatic system). As a result I have chosen to follow medical advice to do a round of chemotherapy combined with HER2 neu therapy for about 5 months followed by surgery to remove what may remain of the the two tumors. Previous to my diagnosis, I had begun to eat in line with a vegetarian (plant-based) diet. I will continue this, in order to nourish my body as much as I can in the coming months. I am also continuing walking and yoga.  I humbly ask for your prayers and support.

I am grateful for this free forum to post my prognosis and associated thoughts and feelings.

I believe in God and desire to bring him glory through this journey.

"Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be dismayed. Therefore I have set my face like I stone, determined to do his will, and I know that I will triumph!" Isaiah 50:7 (NLT)
