Hi Everyone,
A decade ago I received a treatment which gave me nearly a decade of good health following a bout with severe aplastic anemia. I got to see my sons grow into fine young men, find a loving partner in Stephanie, and spend invaluable time enjoying all of your company.
But I always knew the treatment was not a ‘cure’, and there was a chance I may be where I am now - in need of a transplant. My generous donors will be my son William, and an unknown mother somewhere in the UK who provided her umbilical cord after birth of her child. This time I am shooting for a cure.
Many of you have graciously offered to help me during this journey - with things like visits, meals, and caregiving in the 2-3 months after I get out of the hospital. For this I am immensely grateful.
I will keep you posted here. I’ll have a calendar to manage offers to help. And please feel free to reach out to me here, or via phone or email. I will be happy to hear from you.
