Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

After several months of back pain, weight loss, anemia, and generally feeling "off", Kevin had some lab work done recently which unfortunately led to a diagnosis of a plasma cancer called multiple myeloma. He was immediately referred to a hematology oncologist in Lewiston who partners with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and one of the country's top myeloma physicians. This partnership will be key to his recovery, because under the care of a myeloma specialist a significantly longer life expectancy is anticipated. Kevin will soon begin a drug combo intended to put the disease in remission (hopefully by mid-late fall), and then we'll transition to the experts in Seattle where he'll have a stem cell "rescue" which is basically a bone marrow transplant using his own stem cells. Although the transplant sounds scary, we've heard from many friends who know someone who's gone through the same thing and are enjoying lengthy remission periods with a good quality of life. We are choosing to be hopeful and enjoy one day at a time. We welcome your prayers and encouragement on this journey!
