Kevin was diagnosed in March with a 5 cm Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm on his ascending aorta. This was found quite by accident during an annual physical.  The original treatment plan was a watchful approach until the aneurysm reached 5.5 cm making surgery necessary.  Over the last several months Kevin’s condition has changed causing many side effects including leakage of the valve and aneurysm growth.  The risks of waiting now outweigh the risks of surgery. On Tuesday, July 24th Kevin will under go open heart surgery to repair the auerysm and repair or replace the aortic valve. 

Dr. Christopher Malaisrie will perform the surgery along with his cardiac team.  Please keep Kevin and his surgical team in your prayers.
