Backing up a bit - a story to tell for those who just recently heard of Kevin's diagnosis of multiple myeloma - a blood cancer. Kevin's insurance made a switch to Kaiser this year. So a few months ago he picked a doctor and made a preliminary visit for no reason other than to get to know the system. They did routine blood work and that came back with some issues that suggested kidney problems. The subsequent blood work determined that Kevin was going into kidney failure and shortly after that a diagnosis as multiple myeloma being the culprit. The put him into the hospital immediately for a week to thin his blood and avoid a clot.
The last 3 months he has been on a regime of oral chemo and shots and lots of other good stuff. That has been quite the cocktail because he started with at least 70% of his bone marrow filled with cancer and seriously affecting the job of producing red and white blood cells down to
