On December 6th Wille's 35th Annual Toy Run didn't end up how Kevin had planned. Something went terribly wrong with his motorcycle and a tragic accident landed him in NCMC's ICU.  From the accident he has suffered a traumatic brain injury and of course road rash from sliding on the pavement.  His head injuries were to the  frontal lobe and the temporal lobe.  He had emergency surgery Sunday to repair two different types of hemorrhages and they inserted a probe to monitor his swelling.
The neurosurgeon said "it is too early to tell, we just have to take it day by day."  "He is just recovering from a major surgery and his brain needs to heal." So we wait and let his brain heal from the trauma and let the swelling decrease, and then let him show us what he is capable of doing.
The brain heals at a slow pace, but we promise to keep you updated. Then we can all celebrate every bit of progress.  Kevin is a fighter!!
We are beyond blessed and amazed at the outpouring of your love and prayers!!!  It fills our hearts to know we aren't in this alone!!  Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts!!
