On July 20, 2020 Kevin suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident. Hoover Fire and Rescue extricated him from the car and rushed him to UAB. He had emergency surgery the next day to stabilize his cervical vertebrae from C3-C6. Over the next 10 weeks he has had numerous set backs, infections and even a Covid scare (not positive, thank goodness!) but now those setbacks are being replaced with much more positive accomplishments and goals. The next short term goal is to transfer to Spain Rehab hopefully in the next few weeks.
Kevin is still in the TB-ICU at UAB in the North Pavillion. Due to Covid, visitation is strictly limited to one family member per 24 hour period. But cards would be greatly appreciated as well as any notes you would like to leave here.
