On Sunday, August 7, 2016, Dad was finishing up a golfing weekend with some close friends near Stuart, Florida.  On the last morning of their trip, he was on the course and began to feel dizzy.  He collapsed but was very fortunate to have his long-time friend, Bobby Bown, with him who administered CPR immediately.  The rest of the crew called 911 and Dad was taken to Martin Memorial Hopsital North in Stuart, Florida.  They originally thought he was either dehydrated or possibly had a blockage.  On Monday, the doctors completed a catheterization to asses the issue and discovered that he had three issues around the heart.  He was going to require a valve replacement, had a swollen aorta and blockages in his arteries.  We researched the facilities and hospital and quickly found out that he was at one of the top cardiac hospitals in Florida with very well respected doctors and were immediately put at ease.  He was scheduled for a triple bypass surgery on Friday morning.  In the mean time, they kept him comfortable with an amazing view of the St. Lucie River, while exercising his lungs throughout the week.  He went in for surgery on Friday morning at 6:00am.

Check out the first journal update for post-surgery information!  Continue to check this website for updates on his progress in order for us to reach everyone at once.  Your love, prayers and thoughts are all very appreciated and continuously put a smile on Dad's face!
