I was hoping for a nose job, but the plastic surgeon keeps insisting I'll look and feel better with a boob job. So, here we go.
Over the summer I was diagnosed with DCIS and ADH in the left breast -- very early breast cancer. Based on my history and other factors, my doctors all agree it is a "no-brainer" to have a mastectomy and reconstruction. The chances of breast cancer occurring in the right breast decrease from 67% to 2% with the surgery for bilateral. I like those odds.
Surgery is scheduled for October 4th. After a few leisurely days in the hospital (AKA spa) I'll be discharged to recover at home. That's where you come in. Since I won't be allowed to drive (or do much else) on my new boobs for 8+ weeks, there are days when we'll need a hand getting Michael to and from school/activities or picking up groceries—especially in the first few weeks after surgery.
