Circle of family and friends:
If you are visiting this site, then, you know Kenya is facing a medical challenge. Thank you for supporting her through this special period. If you want to know more about her diagnosis and procedures, please read the following paragraph. For anyone who does not want to know about specific information pertaining to her treatment, skip the next paragraph.
Specifics on Kenya’s diagnosis: Kenya has invasive ductal breast cancer. It is aggressive and staged at IIIB. The cancer is estrogen (ER) positive, progesterone (PR) positive and human epidural growth factor receptor (HER 2) negative. The cancer is localized to her breast and lymph nodes. It has not spread farther.
Kenya begins her healing infusion on April 13th. She will receive this treatment every three weeks for six rounds; for approximately five months. Once the infusion is completed, she will have one month off. That will be followed by surgery (lumpectomy or mastectomy- which will be determined once the healing infusion is completed). After the surgery she will have radiation therapy.
Many people have asked what can they do. For now, we simply ask for your prayers. We will update you once we have additional information. Please feel free to leave any messages. Kenya will read them as she is able.
Again, thank you for your loving support as we walk together. Kenya is “beautifully overwhelmed” by your care and concern.
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
