Kent Denning

In November 2017, Kent had persistent headaches that were not relieved by chiropractic care or medication. Finally an MRI was done and found a brain tumor on Nov 10, 2017. On November 16th, Kent had the tumor removed and they suspected and confirmed it was Glioblastoma, a very aggressive type of brain cancer (the same that Senator McCain had). In December, he started chemo and radiation which lasted 6 weeks. During a 6 week break after, we had our last family vacation in Maui.

A new type of chemo was started and continued until they determined it was no longer effective. The last line of defense was an infusion of Avastin every other week. Again, the tumor was not responsive and he and his doctor together decided to end further treatments. He has lost all peripheral vision in his left eye and is constantly dizzy. We registered with Hospice and had a nurse come to visit weekly at first.

On October 31st, he started having bad bouts of vertigo which left him completely reliant on someone to do daily tasks. This also increased his nausea.  He visited the Hospice House for 5 days to get on a medication regimen that would help his symptoms. He does not like taking any medications and the effects they have on him, which recently led him to go off the meds and is to the point he does not leave the bed most days.

He has started to have some confusion , especially when he first wakes up, he doesn't know where he is. Lots of commotion or too much stimulation is hard on him. Many times a conversation takes a lot of effort on his part, but he will continue to the brink of exhaustion. Simple questions are sometimes too hard to even answer.

Please pray for relief from the dizziness/vertigo and the nausea so he can enjoy his family for his remaining time. He knows that he will meet Jesus and is ready whenever he is called to Heaven. His prayer is that all of his children and grandchildren will know Jesus and are saved so they can be united again in Heaven. God Bless!
