In June 2015 dad was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).  Although this was devastating news for him (and the rest of us), he has not let this horrible disease define him.  He has continued to be a very strong man.  He was able to stay at home for longer than we thought possible because of the terrific day-to-day care provided by mom and four wonderful caregivers.  But, it has been decided that he will now move to the St. Cloud VA's Community Living Center, where he will receive the skilled nursing care that he deserves and where he can share stories with other veterans.  This will allow mom, Mont and I to return to our roles as his loving wife and children.
