Kenny Winberry

We are heart broken to announce that Sergeant Kenny Lee Winberry, of Redding, CA, passed away alongside his brother Terry Randall Winberry on July 15th 2022. Born in Arizona, in 1952, he was raised in Ontario, California. Kenny graduated from Chaffey High School in 1970 then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served until 1976 as an Airframe Mechanic and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Whether he was on his house boat with his three boys, aptly named the Big Kahuna, getting kicked out of his son Ryans basketball games, swapping “war stories” with his son Michael, mall-hopping with his step daughters Jordan and Paige, riding his Harley to Sturgis, fishing with his father, sons, and stepdaughters in Crescent City, smashing pins at the bowling alley, or rocking his grandkids to sleep, Kenny made an unforgettable impact on all he came into contact with.

Hard as the foundations of his concrete company Kenny L. Winberry Construction, Kenny poured alongside his son Shawn throughout Redding, Red Bluff, and surrounding areas. His tough exterior protected a heart larger than the life he lived. Kenny is survived by his four grandchildren: Therynn, Maddison, Brody, and Kyah Jax; his three sons: Shawn, Ryan, and Michael; his two step daughters: Jordan and Paige; his brother Rick, and his parents Carol and Darrell. Kenny is preceded in death by his daughter CaSondra Rachele; his nephew Corey; his brothers Bryan and Tim, and birth mother Geneva.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30pm, on Saturday, August 20th, 2022.
Location: Valley Christian Fellowship, 3180 Rancho rd, Redding, CA, 96002.
