Welcome to Ken Cox's Caring Bridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on his health. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.   Ken and Mary Ann were traveling to Ohio for the annual Thanksgiving dinner at Lee Ann's  home.  In route, Ken started experiencing health issues and was admitted to a hospital in Indiana.  The neurologist determined that he was having brain seizures and felt that his best care would be at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.   This hospital is also close to Lee Ann's home and has a world renowned neurology department.   He arrived at The Cleveland Clinic, was analyzed and the neurology team determined that he needed to be in the Neurological ICU to calm down his seizing brain.   He was put under heavy sedation and received anti-seizure medication.  Ken has been in the ICU since Sunday, November 18.   Throughout this time he has been in a sedated, peaceful and non seizing state.    Various medical tests have been performed to determine the cause of his seizures.  Spinal fluid was drawn to test for a large number of viruses and bacteria.  The medical staff is taking wonderful care of him.  We are now patiently awaiting test results and more tests will be done until a cause of the seizures is determined.  After a diagnose is made, a treatment plan will be put into place.  We will update the Caring Bridge to keep everyone aware of Ken's ongoing care and medical plan.  Prayers for the guidance of the doctors and a diagnose along with patience and endurance for the family, are appreciated.
