Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Ken had just started chemo and radiation for his tongue cancer.  Unfortunately he had a car accident 7/5/16.  He had just had his radiation and blood draw at Abbott.  They called him and asked him to return to the Abbott ER because his kidney function numbers were very high. Witnesses said he swerved and hit the Jersey Barrier and flipped the car.  They pulled him out because they were afraid of a fire. He is at Regions Hospital in the ICU.  His kidney function numbers are improving.  He cracked three vertebrae (C1,T12,L1).  He is wearing a neck brace and needs a body brace when he is able to be upright.  He responds to commands by moving his hands and feet.  He is breathing on his own but suffered a traumatic head injury.  He is very sleepy - almost no speech - one to three words per day.  He opens his eyes and can look at you - he nods yes or no.  He cannot answer the phone.  His face is swollen and he has some lacerations.
