Kelsey had a car accident Friday November 10th in the evening. She was driving near Sand Dunes National Park going camping with 2 friends. Her car suddenly rolled off the road, and even though she had her seatbelt on, she was ejected. She was tended to very quickly by the EMT team from Alamosa, and sent to a local trauma center, who had her flown to St. Anthony's here in Lakewood, the best neuro trauma center in Colorado.
She is stable with a TBI (traumatic brain injury.) We are waiting for her swelling in her brain to go down, so she can have two orthopedic surgeries to repair broken bones.
She is sedated and comfortable, receiving excellent care from amazing nurses and doctors. Every single interaction we have had with her caregivers has been exceptionally compassionate, they are so kind and she is in the best hands possible.
We are starting the long process of learning about TBI, and helping her return to her normal self. This can take months and even years. Her EEG is excellent and her neuro tests are good. We have every hope of a full and total recovery.

For friends: Kelsey is ready for visitors, she will be at St. Anthony's until December 14.

We feel surrounded by caring friends and family, and encircled in love. Thank you all for that!
