Very serious Question of the day:
It's 2017. What is the quickest, most effective way to tell people that you have just been diagnosed with cancer?
To me, an impersonal "group" kind of way seems cheap, lazy, and almost disrespectful to people whom you love and appreciate. But in 2017, you share news like this through dreaded, impersonal social media. So, I apologize in advance for telling you this way and now I ask a favor...
Friends, please pray for me while I walk with God through this cancer journey. I have battled symptoms all summer and have just officially been told today that it is cancer. I don't know any answers yet on exact particulars, the scope of this disease, or what's ahead just yet. It involves my throat, lungs, and my entire lymphatic system.
What I *do* know is that my Daddy taught me to serve an amazing God who loves me far beyond my wisdom. And I am super OK with that and I hope you are too.
Lastly, ---- very important to me --- my elderly mother is not on Facebook, and I do not want this disclosed to her at any time. She is struggling thru end-of-life aging. I am her youngest child. Hopefully, that explains enough of my intent to ask that she not be told. ****UPDATE: I HAVE NOW TOLD HER*****

Quick health update:
We're lookin at lymphoma but the type and progression are still undetermined. Had another biopsy yesterday. More tests coming this week and next.
Met my oncologist yesterday - I'm so impressed with him and feel optimistic that I'm in very good hands. My beloved family doctor set me up with a good oncology specialist. So I'm very optimistic regardless of test outcomes.
Not sure how we are going to afford this though. I would like to ask for your continued prayers about medical bills and lack of health coverage to afford treatment. This is the only scary part about it all.
