Kelly Shaw

Hello
Well I never thought I would be doin this at age 41 but here it goes. Last year while on summer vacation I found a lump in my rt upper breast .  I was not too concerned as I had had a mammogram on May 11 ,2015 and it was normal. That test was before my 41 birthday and I was happy to have it done and it was over.
So when I got home from vacation and went to my family dr for my routine test and pap test I was not concerned. To be honest neither was my family doctor .  He said it's likely a fiberadaneoma. So I took the required information and documents and was on my way. I called the following day and booked an appointment .  The tech on the phone gave me many options and my choice was September 14.  But then she said you know Kelly since this is a new lump I think you should come in earlier and insisted that I come on September 4 so I took her advice and did.
I told my friend Maria Clark thay I was going for an ultrasound and she said she would like to keep me company if I was interested. I was jot worried but it's always nice to have company for a test even to wait it the waiting room.
When we got their that day I was not really nervous because it wad nothing to worry about.
I was called onto the room and had a male tech and a female to watch over him . He asked me to get undressed and began the procedure.  He went overy my rt breast and then seemed to be very uneasy. He kept asking me about my overall health and kept saying does this hurt.  I am just checking this again to make sure the test is accurate.  I had had breast ultrasounds before but this was different . It took almost 25 minutes for just one breast and armpit.  I think he checked my left breast  but tI'll this day. I can not remember.
The   he finished an left the room. He was gone for about 15 minutes then Dr. B Bristeu came in he said very frankly. Kelly this ultrasound is very concerning this lump looks concerning and I would ask for you to get a breast biopsy right away .  I would.do it my self but I am too old and have unsteady hands. I dot want you to go away today without an appointment being made.
I asked about cancer he was suprised I asked and said I can not say yes to that only that it's suspicious lump.
So they left . I talked with my friend and booked my tissue biopsy .  I was I shock and dismay. I was keeping calm but was shaken. unfortunately I drove so I remember calling my hubby from the car while my friend ran her errands. I was calm but felt uneasy .
I got all my stuff organized and pulled myself together and  drove home. Talking with Maria as if nothing was wrong .
I meet a friend to get my nails done. Linda  and I told her .  She suggested that I call work so that they knew I was having a weird ultrasound a d should let then know. So I called work told my manager Pam and she was great . She told me to take the weekend off and not to stress about it. Which I planned to do not stress about it.
I had the weekend off and decided to go to work on Monday and Tuesday  however at this point I was wondering abut my breast and having a hard time not thinking about it .
My tissue biopsy was for the 9 the of September and it wad going to be normal.
I told only my colleage and friend Dr . Vipond  that I had had a breast ultrasound and was waiting for biopsy. He reassured me and said if their is anything I can do just call. I worked the weekend and then went on Wednesday for he biopsy .

September 9 2015

Breast Biopsy day.
All I can say I was anxious.  I could not eat. Terry came with me and they made him stay in the waiting room . I was on my own.  Dr Gary was great. the staff was great. I was told that I should follow up with my family doctor on Friday as the tissue samples looked concerning.
Then that afternoon I got the initial breast ultrasound result. I was being to loose my cool. I was anxious . nauseated and  very distracted.
