As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in late 2015. PF is a progressive lung disease that scars the tissue of the lungs making it very difficult for oxygen to pass through the alveoli (breathing sacs). Hence causing me to be out of breath without the aid of supplemental oxygen. There is no cure. However, Duke University Hospital has approved me for a double lung transplant. As it stands right now, I am waiting for my disease to progress to a point to where the doctors say I'm "ready". I see the doctors at Duke every 3 months, they do the tests that indicate change in my lungs, etc. I am on oxygen most of the time and can't exert myself without using it, at all.
