Welcome to my CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  I love stories and thank you for  your support and words of hope and encouragement as I share this story! My story begins back in 2005-2007. We were living in Campello, Alicante Spain and I developed mysterious health problems. Long story short is that we ended up having to return to the United States without receiving answers. Mayo Clinic said that, "it would make itself known" and it seems that it has.  I have been followed by an oncologist for many years. After three bone marrow biopsied and lots of blood work through the years; the diagnosis of "high risk smoldering symptomatic multiple myeloma"  was given. The presence of the plasmas were found in my bone marrow. I have always had high numbers in the blood but not in the bone marrow. The change triggered action. I have a wonderful team of an oncologist and neurologist here in Knoxville and a hematologist at Vanderbilt in Nashville.  I have begun a treatment combo of Revlimid and Dexomethosone.
