Kelly Mouzon

In February 2017, Kelly was diagnosed with a primary glioma (brain tumor) in her left frontal cortex, within the primary motor region. The tumor was identified as a Diffuse Astrocytoma ("grade 2"  tumor). Based on the tumor location and the fact that  the tumor is  infiltrating,  it was deemed inoperable by her surgeon.  In June 2017, Kelly's MRI showed that a part of her Grade 2 tumor was becoming more aggressive (growing rapidly) so she underwent a craniotomy with a partial resection of the aggressive portion of the tumor (the Grade 2 tumor is still considered inoperable). The pathology revealed that this new growth was a Glioblostoma ("Grade 4" tumor). She is currently undergoing treatment with an oncologist at Duke Hospital.

We are so very appreciative for all the positive thoughts and prayers for our mom during this time, however it has become increasingly difficult to respond to individual calls and texts.
