On, Thursday, May 17th, I noticed a lump on my right breast. By Wednesday, May 23rd, I found out that I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. We just moved back to California after living in Tennessee for over 20 years, we haven’t even been here a year. I finished my goal of getting my masters degree and became an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. I obtained employment with San Diego Imaging as a Nurse Practitioner working out of Tri-City Medical Center and Palomar Medical Center. I am doing procedures that I always wanted to do and more. I am doing hip injections, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies and putting in central lines and temporary dialysis catheters. Recently we lost one of our employees due to an injury and I have been spreading my time out doing office work which has actually been helpful recently. Daniel is staying strong with me. He will be by side the entire way, no doubt, but will have a hard time seeing his wife in rough shape. Please encourage him along the way (he doesn’t know how to cook, help me!!!) I am so happy to have such loving family and friends and found such a wonderful group to work with. We are finally getting settled into our new life in this gorgeous piece of property. Going through this is going to be much easier being in this environment. Sydney has gone back to MTSU (TN) to finish up her bachelor in science and her diagnostic ultrasound program. I hope that she will be coming back to CA after she is done. Ashley is now a licensed driver so, we will be looking for a vehicle for her and I am sure she will be very helpful. Ashley left with a Sydney and their dad on a road trip back to TN yesterday and will be gone until June 29 and will be bringing two friends with her for two weeks. It will just be us and our fur babies until then.
