Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
I was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and had Whipple surgery right before my 48th birthday in April of 2015, followed by chemo and radiation. Recovery was followed by a wonderful, miracle-filled, healthy year that included adventures and travel with my beautiful family, engagement to my love Tony, running 5ks with my daughter Zaida who graduated middle school with honors and started early college high school, also seeing my son Wyatt graduate from elementary school and rock Scouts, drums, and shine in some epic theatrical performances, returning to the job I love, and getting fit at the gym with Tony. After this perfect year of blessings and gifts from God, the cancer came back, inoperable this time. I'm currently receiving chemotherapy in Wilmington, being overseen by oncologist at Duke and looking into clinical trials and options at additional, larger medical facilities. Treatment has been extremely difficult and I'm currently on leave from work. We are grateful for tremendous support from our friends and family ... our army of angels and soldiers.
