Keenan is an avid skier and mountain biker. From a young age he has been active and adventurous. Keenan is the youngest of 4 children in a large, extended family with lots of love, spirit and spontaneity. He swam competitively from an early age in Essex Junction, Vermont. He played both lacrosse and soccer for Essex High School from where he graduated in 2013. During the winter he has skied practically every weekend since he was a child. It is who he is! Keenan is a senior at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY majoring in Global Studies.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, home for Thanksgiving break, Keenan went skiing with friends at Mad River Valley. Keenan had a serious skiing accident that day. Supported by his buddies, he was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. It was determined he injured his C7 vertebrae and spinal cord. The fracture was surgically repaired, but his neurologic deficits remain. Currently, Keenan has no sensation or movement below his chest. He is now breathing independently and has movement in his upper extremities. Thankfully he did not suffer a brain injury and is mentally intact.
The medical team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock has been wonderful and encouraging to Keenan and his family. He was transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation in Boston,

Thank you in advance for your support, encouragement and love.
