On Monday, October 16th, Kaye and her daughter in law, Patty, flew to Illinois to visit Kaye's older brother, Jim who had been struggling with some health issues. Kaye's younger brother Jack and his wife, KK, also made the trip....so for the first time in a long time, the three siblings were together! They reveled in the togetherness!
On Wednesday, Kaye started to feel ill. She boarded the plane on Thursday to head home to Altadena. The following day, she visited her doctor, but by Saturday morning she still was not feeling better, so her family called 911 and the ambulance took her to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, where it was discovered that she had contracted pneumonia.
Since then she has been putting all her energy into recovering and resting. As of Friday, October 27th, she has been moved out of the critical care unit and is responding well to the medication and all the wonderful care she is receiving from the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. While she continues to improve, her family is ever so grateful for all the prayers and well wishes that they have been receiving on her behalf...and humbly requests that you keep them coming! The best method of letting her know that you are thinking of her is to send a card or a note to the house. We will be sure she will get it the following day.
