Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Katie is 25 yrs old who was tumor free for 19 years when all of the sudden she woke me up with what I thought was a stomach virus little did I know she would be admitted for emergency surgery for yet another brain tumor on March 11 of 2022 except this time it was cancer. The tumor was blocking the csf fluid which made it critical and with her past history of a pituitary tumor it just made the surgery that much more complicated. The Dr said Katie would spend five days in the hospital in which she would be in ICU overnight as a precaution, she spent nine days in ICU and thirty six days at UAB and two weeks in rehab where
she had to learn how to walk talk and basically everything all over again. In May she went through chemo and radiation and finished up all treatments in July of 2022. Ten months later the tumors were back in three different spots.
November 2023 she is currently back on radiation and about to start infusion therapy and they just found another spot on her neck.
She has a MRI coming up next week praying for nothing new.
