Welcome to our Caring Bridge site.  We have created this site for several reasons.First, so that we could have a place where we could post our thoughts about Katie and her life.  Many of her Kauai friends know little of Katie’s mainland life, and many of Katie’s mainland friends know little of Katie’s life on Kauai.  She had a full life in both places, albeit far too short.  This also helps those of us closest to her to get out some of our thoughts and feelings as we grieve for our loss.

Second so that any of her friends who so desired could post such of their thoughts about Katie and her passing as might help in their own grieving process.  We all have something special to share about Katie.  The picture of a life is the matter of the thousand little details of the moments each person shared in that life.  So many people have commented upon Katie’s kind heart, willing ear, openness, enthusiasm, grace and calming influence.  We encourage you to add to the fullness of the picture of Katie's life by sharing your personal experience with her.

Third, the logistics of planning Celebrations of Life when so many people on both sides of the Pacific want to attend, and with family spread out as well, are a bit complicated. Having this site allows us to have a single point of contact where people can come and get the details of the Celebrations of Life.  While we have established windows in time for each (late March on Kauai, and late May to early June in Bellevue), final dates, times and locales have not been set.
