Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I Yvonne (daughter) will be writing updates and my Uncle Alan who is great with words may add to it or correct my grammar :) !  To start off with , on Tuesday, August 15th,  we as a family returned from a wonderful inside passage Alaskan Cruise with 20 family members in all. It was a wonderful, beautiful trip, that now we are ever so thankful that mom enjoyed and this did not happen until our return !

On Saturday, August 19th, while mom was sitting at a funeral service of a friend, she whispered to dad that she felt she may be having a heart attack. He rushed her to the Cody hospital and after several tests that came back negative they decide to keep her over night.  Dad received a phone call  before 1:00 am Sunday morning that she had went into cardiac arrest.  She was life-flighted to Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Montana and dad, Jared and I drove up. We actually beat the helicopter as it took that long to stabilize her enough to fly. Before they transferred her to Billing we were told that her eyes were fixed an fully dilated which was not a good sign and given the decision to stop attempts to keep her heart going or fly her up. We chose to give her the chance!

We arrived at 4:00 p.m. and mom arrived roughly 20 minutes later.  After what seemed like an eternity the Cardiologist, Dr. Lebehn, came out to inform us again of the fixed and dilated eyes being a big concern, the fact that she had over 2 hours of CPR to keep her alive enough to transport and the risks to her kidneys if they did a heart  procedure to check for blockage. They first wanted to do a brain scan to see if she had bleeding and proceed from there .  That was where it began on her arrival on Sunday .
