Many of you know that mom has been sick with pneumonia the past couple of months. The treatments were not working and she was actually getting worse. Her doctor ordered several scans which revealed a mass in her lung and a lesion on her spine. She had the biopsy this morning and we were told immediately that the mass came back positive for stage 4 Adenocarcinoma and it has spread to her spine. Mom is not a smoker and never has been so we don't know what caused this.
They will be doing more testing to really pinpoint which type of treatment will be best with this kind of cancer. We meet with the oncologist on Tuesday so we should know more then.
We want to keep everyone updated as things progress so this will be our avenue to keep you posted.
We are all in shock as you can imagine after what we just went through losing our dad just 7 months ago. People have already asked how they can help and right now we just don't know. Once the shock wears off and we have a game plan for treatment, we promise to let you know how you can help.
