Kathy Weiner

Our beloved Kathy has recently been diagnosed with stage 3  cancer.  Kathy has spent her entire life being a caregiver to others.  She founded a recycling business to care of our precious environment. She became a home inspector to care for low-income homeowners in need of housing repair. She became a FEMA inspector to care for those affected by natural disasters all over the country. She has sheltered and fed and loved every stray animal that has crossed her path.  It  is now her turn to receive our care.

Kathy's situation is progressing so quickly that we felt it necessary to streamline the communications as much as we can by using the CaringBridge website. We want everyone in Kathy's life to be kept up to date about her situation. We also want all of you to be able to extend your well wishes and contributions of support with ease. Please click on WAYS TO HELP to navigate through support options, and share our fundraiser with your networks.

Kathy had a successful surgery to remove the affected organ in May, but the post-surgical pathology report revealed that the cancer had begun to spread elsewhere. The established treatment plan has Kathy beginning radiation very soon, followed by chemotherapy.  In the next couple of weeks and months ahead we have a lot to do to make sure Kathy is fully nurtured and supported during her treatment and recovery.

CaringBridge uses GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/48c5a6af). If you do not have a GoFundMe account and wish to contribute, you can make a Venmo donation to Kathy directly: @Kathy-Weiner,. If prompted, last 4 digits of phone number are 3519 . (Note: the link below just goes to support the Caring Bridge non profit, not Kathy. Please go to the WAYS TO HELP section of the site to donate to Kathy, or click the link above).

Kathy's community is very strong, and together we can bring her back to full health. Thank you for your warmth and generosity. Every little bit helps!

 In gratitude,

Deborah Schagen
