Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
In June of 2016 I went to my PC to check out pain I was having in my right leg from the hip down. X-rays indicated that I had advanced osteoarthritis in my spine and hip. The doctor recommended that I have full hip replacement immediately. So I finally scheduled hip replacement for January 2017-my granddaughter was on the way and I needed to get my grandma on! Unfortunately, medical release chest x-ray discovered a cancerous tumor. First MDAnderson appointment was January 4, 2017. Biopsy confirmed adenocarcinoma in the lower left lobe Stage 1A. I was a candidate for a study only at MDA-SBRT radiation-just 3 days of radiation 30 minutes each. Every 3 months I returned for a CT. All was progressing as expected. At my 1 year appointment there seemed to be some growth-biopsy indicated no cancer-good news. So, finally was able to schedule a hip replacement. Needed to get medical clearances again. Adenocarcinoma had metastasized. Currently undergoing tests to determine treatment.
Thank you to all family and friends for all your love, prayers, and support. We are so fortunate to have all of you as we embark on this journey. We thank God for all of you and your prayers. God is good! He has been answering our prayers.
