Mom was diagnosed with stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer on May 2, 2020. She had been losing weight for approximately 10 months, losing a total of 50+ lbs and was feeling very fatigued most of the time.  She kept telling her doctors that something was wrong, but none of them seemed too concerned.

Finally they decided to do some tests, which included endoscopy and colonoscopy, and lab work. Her endoscopy and colonoscopy were normal but her labs showed that she was anemic.

They sent her for a CT scan Of her chest and decided to also do a bone marrow biopsy due to the anemia. The biopsy was normal but the CT scan revealed nodules in her lungs.

They did a biopsy of her nodules and found that several of them were in fact cancerous and had spread to some of her lymph nodes.

She opted to try treatment and has started chemo, immunotherapy and radiation.

At this point the prognosis is fair, with approximately 25% for remission and 50% 5 yr survival rate. We want to share our journey and welcome prayers and positive vibes!
