I thought it was time for an update given how much progress Kathy has made in the nearly 11 months since her illness in February 2017. To those who may be new to the site, Kathy was hospitalized at the beginning of February 2017  with a serious infection, had two surgeries, and remained in the ICU at Banner University Medical Center for nearly a month. She was transferred to CuraHealth, and then to HealthSouth, at which she received rehabilitation care. Kathy was discharged from HealthSouth on April 27, 2017, and thanks to the efforts of Margaret and Bob, she is now at Brookdale, Santa Catalina, Room 213 located at 7500 N Calle Sin Envidia, Tucson, AZ 85718, where she continues to improve on a daily basis. Initially, none of Kathy's doctors believed she would ever walk, use her dominant hand, or live independently. Despite those predictions, Kathy continues to make tremendous progress and is now walking with the assistance of a walker, using her dominant hand and arm, and gaining strength in her non-dominant hand/arm as well! Of course, she appreciates all the caring communications and visits she receives not only from her distant friends, but also from those close by. This website has been a wonderful way for friends and family to communicate. Kathy has a binder filled with all your messages, and has begun to read them as the binder fills up.  As of January 6, 2018, there have been nearly 5,500 visits to this website. Here's to Kathy!
