This is probably the last big edition to Kathy's Story. After 14 months of rehab, Kathy went home on March 29, 2018! What a long run she has had since February 2017 when she was hospitalized  with a serious infection, had two surgeries, and remained in the ICU at Banner University Medical Center for nearly a month. She was transferred to CuraHealth, and then to HealthSouth, then to Brookdale, Santa Catalina, on April 27, 2017. Initially, as you all know, none of Kathy's doctors believed she would ever walk, use her dominant hand, or live independently. Despite those predictions, Kathy defied all the odds, and is now "cleaning and doing laundry" on her own in her own home. The journey continues, of course, and I suspect Kathy will now be updating all of us on her own. Thanks to all for your dedicated visits to this website, which as of this update, number 6,225!
