I rarely do breast self-exams....just speaking the truth. But I did do one around the end of November and detected a lump. A diagnostic mammogram(which I do regularly) followed by an ultrasound noted the presence of a small tumor. Biopsy results revealed Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma...the cells have permeated the duct walls and could go elsewhere in the body. Good news is that the tumor is hormone-receptor positive, which means I will be able to be on Hormone Therapy.
I am very optimistic for the outcome; I have no reason to feel otherwise. I am blessed with a wonderful, supportive(...but worried!) husband, along with all my family and friends...we got this one licked!
