Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In May 2019,  Kathy and I flew to Raleigh to see Tim and the kids and  on the way home in Minneapolis. Kathy asked to wheel 2 small bags to the car by herself so she could be sure that she could manage 2 bags on her own,  because she was planning a trip with Kris to Texas.  She made a few odd comments that did not make sense.
In June of 2019, Kathy was in Texas with her sister Kris at a quilting retreat.  I warned Kris to keep an extra eye on her because she was acting weird, making odd comments and seemed stressed.

Kris took her to  the Waco Texas hospital when Kathy was saying odd things and her behavior was not her normal self.  At the hospital, Kathy was diagnosed with a frontal lobe tumor in her brain.  I flew down and we flew her back and took her to the University of Minnesota where she had an extended stay.

Kathy had radiation and chemotherapy and it was determined that her tumor was inoperable. We went through with our planned move to our new home on October 4, 2019.  Kathy had many good days. By October 24, Kathy was readmitted to the hospital and went into a comma.  She was very sick, and it was that time that we decided that Kathy was going to be put on hospice care.   Kathy rallied and came home under full hospice care.
