June 5, 2019 started as a normal day with her pot of coffee that morning and my daily phone call to on my drive in to work.  She then began packing for an impromptu trip to the beach with a friend.  Definitely enjoying her retired life.  While getting things together, her right foot gave away and she collapsed into the floor of the living room.   After getting through the episode and realizing she didn't have movement in her right side, her nursing skills went into overdrive.  She was at home alone when this happened.  She managed to get herself to the cordless phone and call 911.  She believed she was having a stroke and needed to know the exact time (she knew she had 2 hours).  Many tests were ran and of course she was explaining everything to all of us in true nurse fashion.  Tests didn't reveal a stroke or even a seizure.  On June 6, 2019 the doctor told my mom that she had a tumor on the left frontal lobe of her brain.  A brain tumor? Who would have thought that?  I can say that this was the most shocking news to me.  However, as much of a shock as it was to my mom and our entire family and friends, we rest in the fact that it was not a shock our Heavenly Father.  We are clinging to the promises of Proverbs 3:5 and Jeremiah 29:11.
