"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1 My life path has taken a quite sudden and unexpected turn. Last month, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. At the same time, my dear mom Lois Laverty, was diagnosed with primary liver cancer. The first few weeks we were all in shock that this could be happening at all, let alone simultaneously. Two months ago we were the picture of health and had no idea what was looming. I began chemotherapy June 15. I will have 6 treatments total, every 21 days. At 87 years old, my mom's options were limited and she has chosen hospice care. Trusting in her Lord and Savior, she has peace that passes understanding. The entire family is surrounding her with loving care and we cherish each and every day with her. The outpouring of love and concern from friends and family has been amazing. Mom and I are so grateful for your many acts of love and kindness. With thankful hearts, trusting in Christ alone - Love, Kathy & Lois
