On April 13, 2107, Kathy and Robert were playing tennis.  As Kathy went back to get a ball she hit the back fence and fell onto the court resulting in a complex hip and shoulder fracture on her left side.    She had hip replacement surgery on Friday the 14th, which went well until two hours after the surgery when she sustained a stroke from a blocked carotid artery on the left side which caused the right side of her body to be immobile.  At the time of the stroke we immediately noticed she was not able to speak.  She has been able to communicate through gesturing and some attempts at speech, and her facial expressions are unmistakeable!!  Since she had been admitted to an orthopedic hospital she was transferred to another hospital where they could manage the stroke better.  Monday, April 24, she underwent surgery to repair her shoulder, which the doctor said went very well.  Throughout her hospitalization she has been receiving many types of therapy and Robert has been her constant companion.  Gayle and Vickie were visiting at the time of the accident and were able to stay for the four days following.  Terry and Sara also came out and it was obvious Kathy loved having them there!  As you know Kathy is an incredible woman with amazing spiritual insight and ministers into the hearts of many people.  We have not heard the physician's prognosis, but are trusting God to completely heal and restore her!  Please join us in praying for her!!!
