Welcome to Kathy Mathems' CaringBridge site, created to garner emotional and financial support from our family and friends. Mom's story began back in February of 2016 when she noticed a lump in her left breast. She had a biopsy which revealed that the lump was indeed a tumor and it was malignant. After much research and prayer on the part of her and our father, they decided to head down the holistic path to health versus more conventional methods.
She began a program through Dr. Véronique Desaulniers, D.C., which is a comprehensive 7 essentials system to restore whole body health. She took a "Greece Test" which uses a blood sample to detect what are known as circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as well as cancer stem cells (CSCs). Both CTCs and CSCs are thought to be responsible for most of the cancer spread within the body. This test tells us what types of foods, supplements, and treatments are going to be most effective against her unique cancer cells. Along with an extreme diet change and taking Greece Test recommended supplements, she has begun undergoing IV therapy. The IV therapy is simply vitamin C and magnesium administered through an IV twice a week. Her tumor markers started out at 14.1 and after just 2 1/2 months of doing the above mentioned her markers are now at 11.4.
Going forward our parents plan to continue to monitor and test regularly to keep an eye on the tumor itself as well as where the cancer is. Had they done the conventional method, their insurance would have paid for 95% of it. Because insurance does not pay for supplements or the types of tests she is taking, their costs are completely out of pocket. It is our family's belief that Jesus Christ can and will take care of us through this journey; spiritually, emotionally, and financially. We covet your prayers first and foremost. There is truly no modern day medicine that could heal like our Great Physician. If you believe you can help financially we would be very grateful. This is an expensive route to take and we know the Jesus will provide.
