Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.
In 2005 I had my kidney removed because of kidney cancer. The cancer also followed that blood supply and entered my vena cava. The clog was also removed from there. I went on to have a high quality of life knowing it could return anytime. Eleven years ago it was well known that kidney tumors do not respond to chemotherapy. New drugs have come out in the last five years called systemic therapy. They all carry side effects. When I was In Africa in 2007 I was changed. There I learned my brothers and sisters live and die with what they get. No fancy scans or choices like here. I have a deep faith. For years I worked with hospice and my patients taught me to not be afraid. Death is natural and peaceful.
