If you know Kathie then you know that she’s the energizer bunny who never stops moving. She always has a project to do and is often walking too fast for anyone to catch her. Kathie is also deeply devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. They love their “Mimi”. Kathie has spent much of her life serving at Lawndale Christian Reformed Church and Chicago West Side Christian School, both places that have blessed her and our family.

On October 6, 2020 Kathie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The cancer is inoperable and is being treated with chemotherapy. Patients with this diagnosis live between 6-12 months with treatment.

This site is meant to give updates on her treatment because we know that there are a lot of people out there who love Kathie. If you know her she’d love to hear an word from you, feel free to leave a message here or send her a note. Because of COVID-19 we are limiting visitors right now. Her doctors do not want her to be exposed.

She welcomes your prayers and says if you want to do something for her then vote for Joe and Kamala in Nov so that every American can have access to the quality healthcare that is afforded to her.
